Paris – Day 14

Coming home we ended up with a day in Paris due to the timing of the flights which was great!  We landed to a sunny spring day and enjoyed wandering the city with no real plans.  I had hoped to catch up with Isabelle, but she in fact was finally on her first trip to America, in New York to see American Idiot.  She did however generously give us her apartment to stay in for the night which was so nice!  She lives near the Bastille so after dumping our stuff we made a beeline for her recommended Boulanger.  Unfortunately they were closed for the weekend but we found another and after lunch embarked on our assault of the city.

Since we had both been there before, we really just wandered end to end to our favorite spots, snapping pictures and eating favorite foods.  At the end of the day, we enjoyed a great dinner back in Isabelle’s neighborhood and then collapsed before our flight home.  A great way to end the trip!

Cities visited post-Olympics:

I have a theory that it is great to visit a city right after they host an Olympics because everything is new & upgraded, with improved mass transit. Here's the ones I've made it to so far: Barcelona - Atlanta - Sydney - Athens - Salt Lake - Vancouver

For their complete and utter lack of logic and customer service, you should avoid frequenting these businesses: Cafe Venus * Mesa Grill * Swoon * Tacos Guaymas (Greenlake location) * Trophy Cupcakes
